Né a Bogota, en Colombie, son debut professionel a commencé à l'église de Madeleine ici à Paris. En 2004 il était offert d'étudier à une des meilleure conservatoires en Europe: "Guildhall School of Music and Drama" à Londres. À plus tard, revenu à Paris, il a suivi quelque concerts en performant avec la Maîtrise Notre-Dame. Il a quelques prix comme Léopold Bellan et UFAM.
Hyalmar a joué dans beaucoup de pays qui inclus la France, l'Espagne, et les États-Unis; il a aussi joué plein de rôles inclus: Perruchetto dans "La Fedeltà premiata" d'Haydn: Guglielmo dans "Cosi fan tutte" de Mozart: Calchas dans "La Belle Hélène" d'Offenbach et Uberto dans "Serva Padrona" de Pergolesi au Théâtre du Tambour Royal à Paris; José Castro dans "Fanciulla del West" de Puccini; Pistola dans "Falstaff" de Veri; Nourabad dans "Les Pêcheurs de perles" de Bizet; et Ali dans "L'Italiana in Algeri" de Rossini.
